Expedition to Southern Africa

March 10, 2011 at 4:40 PM

Hertfordshire County is mounting a return Expedition to Swaziland,
KwaZulu Natal and Lesotho during August this year.  The participants
will have the opportunity of further developing the Swazi Thirst for
Life campsite, visiting the Zulu battlefields, pony trekking in the
Lesotho highlands and having fun with Scouts from all 3 regions.  Those
who have been before have described the experience as life-changing.
Members of the Expedition between 16 and 25 will be able to carry out
the Explorer Belt for 10 days during the 3-week period (10th August -
1st September) or cover elements of the Queen's Scout or DoE Gold Award.

The total cost is £1,650

A few places are available for anyone over the age of 16, including
Scout Network and Leaders, who would like to join the 40-strong
expedition.
A leaflet is attached describing in a little more detail what we are
about.
If any of your Explorer Scouts, Network or Leaders are interested,
please ask them to get in touch with me in the first instance or
complete the application form attached..
