Communications Update
June 10, 2011 at 10:00 AM
The sharp eyed of you will have noted that the Scottish Headquarters website has been updated recently, bringing it into line with the new brand guidelines and providing new services for Groups and Districts (some of these will be launched over the next year).
The main new change is that parents and young people are able to search for their nearest Scout Group, using their postcode. This links them to the ten Groups which are geographically closest to them. When clicking on a Group they will be linked to a page which provides them with some basic information on the Scout Group. These pages will be able to be updated by Groups (on request). Customisable District pages will also be available later this year.
As mentioned above the UK Scout Association have issued new brand guidelines which are to be used by Groups, Districts and Regions. A shortened version of the guidelines can be accessed via Neil Burn, ARC Communications. Neil is looking to work with Districts in the next few months to ensure that they understand the new guidelines and are supported to implement them.
The Region are in the process of setting up a new Media Development Team at Regional level, to work with Groups and Districts to support members in ‘shouting about Scouting’. To gain this support please contact Neil Burn, ARC Communications in the first instance. Also if you are interested in joining the communications or media team then contact Neil.
More details will be available through the social media sites and also on the Regional website www.sesscouts.org.uk
