Over the past few months there have been a lot of changes to the communication methods used in South East Region. Full details of these are outlined below. We are always looking for new ways to communicate with our members and to ensure that information is sent out in the most effective way possible. As part of this commitment we are asking YOUR thoughts on the current communication methods. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey, by clicking here or available through Regional Headquarters. Thank you for your assistance.

Social Media
The website are taking full advantage of social media applications, many of which are free to use. These methods allow us to directly send information to all of our followers, providing them with reminders of closing dates, new updates to POR and general Scouting information. To follow the Region on Twitter or Facebook search for sesscouts or follow the links on the regions website.
Media Team
As mentioned in the previous newsletter the Region have developed two new support teams around communications. The first of these is the Media Team. External media is an important tool for the Scout Association to use to increase our membership, recruit new leaders and highlight the fantastic activities that are taking place in the Region.
To aid this the new Media Team are on hand to support the development of press releases, sending them to contacts at the papers that the Region have been developing. Within the media team we also have a photographer and film maker who would be willing to take pictures of large events to help capture the fun and adventure of Scouting.
To contact the media team email them on mediateam@sesscouts.org.uk
Web Team
The second of the two teams is a new Web team. The remit of this team is to support the online media of the region. This includes supporting the development of new district websites and also offering advice and support to group websites.
A main focus of the team will be supporting groups and districts to bring current websites into the Scout Associations brand. This brand is to be implemented on to all Scout Association documents, including websites and online materials. It is the intention of the Region to support this development over the coming year. If you have a website please contact comms@sesscouts.org.uk who will discuss the best option for your website. The full guidelines can be found at www.scouts.org.uk/brand.
