Adult Training

This calendar outlines the main training opportunities being offered in our Region during the year 2011/12.

The programme has been developed from those of previous years. It includes Wood Badge training opportunities for sectional leaders and for GSLs & Commissioners, offering all modules at least twice. On=going learning opportunities are included to help develop skills in presenting, facilitating and training. A number of ‘IT’s ..” courses (informal skill training opportunities) have been developed to meet particular needs. Several Safeguarding and Appointments Committee courses are included to help meet the demand. First Aid courses are also available regularly across the programme.

As a result of the number of new courses introduced this year we have decided to reduce the number of days on which local training sessions are offered. There will now be two days where we supplement the Districts’ provision of ‘Getting Started’ modules and validation opportunities.

We are also keen to support Districts by meeting requests for team development as well as personal. Please contact Ken Thomson when you are considering this or about any aspect of Adult Training in the Region.
