Update from Regional Chairman
September 05, 2011 at 3:14 PM
The Regional Executive Committee met at Longcraig on 31 August and, once again, had very full agenda to deal with.
One of the principal items of business was to receive the report from the District Boundary Review Group and this is detailed elsewhere in this newsletter.
The Committee approved the final accounts for year ended 31 March 2011 for signing. The draft accounts were reviewed in detail at the previous meeting and have since been subject to external audit and the Committee was pleased to note a satisfactory report from the auditors.
Good progress has been made in moving forward from the Bonaly Review and the Committee approved a new Bonaly Advisory Committee under the chairmanship of Mark Hesketh, together with Terms of Reference to take forward the recommendations from the Review. The success of Clanjam at Bonaly was also noted and further details are included elsewhere in this newsletter.
The Committee noted that the Chairman had met with the Longcraig Management Committee to discuss the Report on the Review of the centre, and that further discussions were to take place to agree a way forward.
The Committee were delighted to note the re-energising (and renaming) of the Funding Advisory Committee under William Windram’s chairmanship.
The Committee noted, with pleasure, the ongoing work being undertaken by the Regional Secretary, the progress report on meeting the objectives in relation to the City of Edinburgh Council funding, and the continued good work of the Local Development Officer.
