REGIONAL ANNUAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting of South East Scotland Regional Scout Council was held at Lasswade on 30th October at the close of the Day Conference and over 100 people attended.

The Annual report, a copy of which is being circulated to all section leaders and GSLs and Commissioners who have not already received a copy was presented and approved as were the Annual audited accounts.

The elections of the office bearers was conducted and the Regional Chairman, John Kennedy, Secretary, Alan Willoughby and Treasurer, George Young were all reappointed; the Regional Executive for the next year was confirmed and the Region's new legal adviser John Lunn was confirmed in post.

There are vacancies for two young people aged 18 -25 to serve on the Executive and if you have an interest in serving in that way or know someone who would be an asset to the Executive please get in touch with the Regional office

A photo montage of activities by members, put together by Neil Burn, ARC Communications, of the Region was shown to the meeting and there were a number of presentations including Queens Scout awards to Jack Corps of Pentland Network (and SL 107th) and Jamie Henry of Portobello Network. There were Awards of Merit and Chief Scouts Commendations presented as was the Silver Acorn to Charlie Turnbull of Hawick Scout Group.
