I'm not sure if this is of any interest or not but I'm willing to offer a two day Outdoor First Aid course which satisfies the requirements of the NGB awards etc at a reduced cost to our Scouters.
This is a fairly new venture for me and there are plans to offer advanced wilderness and expedition courses in the future as well.
For those who don't know me through my Scouting role I am a Police Officer having served in specialist firearms teams, Mountain Rescue and Rope Access operations over the last twenty years both as a hands on practitioner and as a training officer. I am also involved in an voluntary instructor capacity with the British Heart Foundation, British Red Cross and the Scottish Ambulance Service being involved with their Community First Responder Scheme.
I hold a number of National Governing Body awards from the MLTB and SMLTB as well as nationally recognised qualifications and experience in Wilderness travel, Bushcraft skills and Expedition leading through my work as a Duke of Edinburgh Award group leader, Gold level assessor and Level 3 Forest School Practitioner.
I am offering the chance to attend a two day certificated emergency first aid course at the reduced rate of £75 per participant, a massive 25% off my normal £100 cost.
The course involves a minimum of 16 hours instruction, features a formal independent assessment and is designed for those who work and play in the great outdoors. Suitable for National Governing Bodies such as the MLTUK, BCU, BOF, SMBLA, BCA, BASI etc. the course features practical scenarios in settings you are liable to find yourself in as an active outdoors person.
The courses will run from Bothwell Scout Hall, Clyde Avenue, Bothwell on the following dates:
13th – 14th November 2010
15th – 16th January 2011
19th – 20th February 2011
