March Young Leader weekend

January 07, 2012 at 1:24 PM

The second weekend for all Young Leaders (including those doing service for Duke of Edinburgh & Guides) will be held in the chalet at Bonaly on the weekends of 23-25th March 2012. This is a stand alone weekend and attendance at the November weekend isn't a prerequisite. An outline programme for the weekend is set out below.

Friday

Arrive 7:30pm

Module A - Prepare for take off! - note that any 14-18 year old who helps with a Section who has not completed this module within 3 months is not insured!

Saturday

Module E – Game On!

Module F – Special People

Module I – What Did They Say?

Module J – Awards & Badges

Sunday

Module K- First Aid Masterclass

Leaders session (from 2pm)

Finish 4pm

There is a new ongoing learning module for section leaders to help them understand requirements and use Young Leaders better in their meetings. This will be free for section leaders, but we will require registration in advance.

Those who attended the November weekend will have an additional session for them to report back on how they have got on with Mission 1.

The weekend will be fully catered and will cost £38 per person. It is expected that groups/Districts will bear the cost. Those who attended the November weekend and don't need to do Module A again can come from Saturday morning and pay £30.

If a Young Leader cannot do either of those options, but can attend part of the weekend then we can accommodate that at a reduced cost. The aim is to be flexible and maximise opportunities!

Please fill in the attached form and return to South East Region Scout Council, 15 Valleyfield St, Edinburgh EH3 9LP by Friday 9th March with a cheque for £38/£30 per attendee payable to The Scout Association. In the event of further questions call Brian Moretta on 0131 447 3795 or email brianmoretta@mac.com.
